Overview: Under Graduate Program:
Pharmacy is a complex art that involves creating pharmaceutical and treatments while having an in-depth knowledge of all of their side effects and having access to reliable information and instructions. Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) is an undergraduate degree course in the field of Pharmacy that is pursued by candidates interested in building a career in the domain of Pharmacy among the science students after class 12th. The B. Pharm. curriculum consists four years with eight semesters. The B. Pharm. degree is one of the most valued degrees due to its wide range of possibilities and vast career opportunities. Students are educated about a wide range of topics, including industrial pharmacy, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmacology, human anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacy management etc. One of the main duties of a B. Pharm. professional is to have knowledge of health care and biomedical science as well as the skills to forecast the nature of medications and evaluate such medicines for the betterment of mankind.
According to the B. Pharm. curriculum, students will learn the particulars of medications and their effects on the body, as well as an understanding of the chemical and organic characteristics of every component used. The major focus of a B. Pharm. is to uphold a standard of well-being and wellness for individuals. In order to choose the appropriate medicine for the proper therapy, the programme teaches students how to be attentive experts in the field. Upon receiving their bachelor’s degree, students are enabled to become an ethical and knowledgeable pharmacist to enhance patient care and promote wellness.

Eligibility for admission: As per the norms set by DTE Maharashtra
First Year B. Pharm:
To be eligible for First Year Degree Course in Pharmacy (B. Pharm) admission, the candidate should,
i. Have Indian Nationality.
ii. Have Passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology.
iii. Have Secured minimum 50% marks (45% for backward class and Physically Handicapped candidates from Maharashtra) in the Subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.
iv. Have Non zero score in MHT- CET – 2020, NEET
Admission to Diploma Holders:
First Year B. Pharm:
If seats remain vacant, candidates who have secured minimum 50% marks in Diploma in Pharmacy
(D.Pharm.) Examination can be considered for admission to First Year B. Pharm. As per
the government rules.
Direct Second Year B. Pharm (Lateral Entry):
i. The Candidate should be an Indian National;
ii. Passed Diploma Course in Pharmacy with at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) from an All India Council for Technical Education or Pharmacy Council of India or Central or State Government approved Institution or its equivalent.
iii. Any other criterion declared by appropriate authority from time to time.
Course Structure
As per SRTM University Guidelines the B. Pharm Course details:
Working days in each semester
Each semester shall consist of not less than 100 working days. The odd semesters shall be conducted from the month of June/July to November/December and the even semesters shall be conducted from December/January to May/June in every calendar year.

Attendance and progress
A candidate is required to put in at least 80% attendance in individual courses considering theory and practical separately. The candidate shall complete the prescribed course satisfactorily to be eligible to appear for the respective examinations.
Theory and Laboratory courses
Courses are broadly classified as Theory and Practical. Theory courses consist of lecture (L) and /or tutorial (T) hours, and Practical (P) courses consist of hours spent in the laboratory. Credits (C) for a course is dependent on the number of hours of instruction per week in that course, and is obtained by using a multiplier of one (1) for lecture and tutorial hours, and a multiplier of half (1/2) for practical
(Laboratory) hours. Thus, for example, a theory course having three lectures and one tutorial per week throughout the semester carries a credit of 4. Similarly, a practical having four laboratory hours per week throughout semester carries a credit of 2.
Minimum credit requirements
The minimum credit points required for award of a B. Pharm. degree is 208. These credits are divided into Theory courses, Tutorials, Practical, Practice School and Project over the duration of eight semesters. The credits are distributed semester-wise as shown in Table IX. Courses generally progress in sequences, building competencies and their positioning indicates certain academic maturity on the part of the learners. Learners are expected to follow the semester-wise schedule of courses given in the syllabus.
The lateral entry students shall get 52 credit points transferred from their D. Pharm program. Such students shall take up additional remedial courses of ‘Communication Skills’ (Theory and Practical) and ‘Computer Applications in Pharmacy’ (Theory and Practical) equivalent to 3 and 4 credit points respectively, a total of 7 credit points to attain 59 credit points, the maximum of I and II semesters.
